Clwb Digi Cares
Are you aged between 8-12 or over 60, and live in Pembrokeshire? Do you like art, music, or singing? Clwb Digi Cares connects children with older people through online creative activities. The aim is to improve wellbeing, reduce loneliness, develop new skills, and alleviate boredom and frustration.
The activities are led by artists and musicians. (Commission for artists.)
Create a video for the Kindness Project – Show it :: Share it. Children are making videos showing how to make fun things.
The project aims to introduce older people to new technologies in an atmosphere of playfulness and experimentation through creative and uplifting experiences that will have tangible outcomes for both parties.
Clwb Digi Cares is supported by West Wales is Kind administered by Pembrokeshire Association for Volunteers (PAVS).

Creative technology sessions for young people
Since February 2018 Span Arts have been running monthly arts and technology sessions for young people at our offices in Narberth on Saturday mornings.
Clwb Digi was set up initially to cater for 8 – 12 year olds and has introduced young people to a number of different activities ranging from animation, app making, electric painting and live looping.
The series kicked off with attendees taking part in the Span Arts animation competition to create an ident for Span Digidol. The winning animations appear in this short film:
Participant feedback from recent sessions has stated:
- It was fun and challenging to do.
- Very entertaining and easy to follow.
- Got to do what you wanted to do in the activity.
Clwb Digi was developed through Span Arts’ Digidol project funded by LEADER and the Arts Council of Wales which was set up to explore new ways in which digital technology can be used creatively to increase connectivity and reduce loneliness and social isolation.
Clwb Digi is one of ten pilot projects that Span Digidol has been testing since the project began in May 2018 and has been exceptionally well received – 100% of Clwb Digi members have thought workshops to date have been good or excellent. 80% have been introduced to something new and learnt a new skill and 75% of Clwb Digi members felt more positive about themselves and have developed their confidence.
Though the Digidol project comes to an end in June 2020, in March 2020 Span is delighted to have been able to appoint Pip Lewis as our new Clwb Digi Project Manager.
