Set in a small Italian town in the threadbare years following the second world war, these funny and poignant stories of a pair of rogues, one a catholic and the other a communist who scheme and plot to get the better of each other, are a favourite read, now performed by master storyteller Mike Maran. Mike Maran is best known for his adaptation of Captain Correlli’s Mandolin, and has been producing acclaimed musical plays since 1988. Colin Steele is an international star trumpeter and composer, while Martin Green has toured and recorded with Joan Baez, Eliza Carthy and Linda Thompson.
