In Ruling the Roost we meet three generations of the same family who each have different needs, different values and different lifestyles. Old Mama lives where she has always lived, on a Mediterranean island amid her lavender bushes and her chickens - her battle with the goat is as constant as her breathing. But she is slowing down, letting things slip, finding the daily chores a struggle … yet the sun is warm and the bees buzz.

Working Daughter has come with her Boy to move Old Mama to the mainland where she will be close to the family, safe and cherished - but Old Mama has other ideas. The Boy is unfocused, unsure of what he wants from life - press-ganged into coming along to do the chores … and hopes to check out the local talent.

How will each of them cope with the shifts in interdependence and the impact it will have on all their lives?

This new production from the ever resourceful and interesting Welsh touring company is suitable for all family audiences. The show lasts approximately 1 hour and does not have an interval.
