Alex Barr's new play stands the Greek myth on its head and brings it up to date. The main characters take on a new dimension. By the end the relationships between brother and sister, master and servant, client and agent, and between lovers, have changed for ever.
The Labyrinth is not only a place of death and exploitation, but also corrupt desires and human failings. Who's to blame for the suffering is for you, the audience, to decide.
Alex's previous plays include Goats ('witty, inventive, and open-ended'--Time Out) and Futures on Radio 4. He won third prize in the National Poetry Competition 2000.
