Spanjazz presents: Janusz Carmello

Polish trumpeter Janusz Carmello is visiting Wales for a short tour and coming to Narberth on Wednesday 10th. Feb. He spent 7 years in Milan before moving to become a figure on the London scene. His style is influenced by Clifford Brown and Freddie Hubbard, and he's worked with Charles Mingus, Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis,Al Cohn, Bud Freeman and many others in his forty year career. Janusz Carmello is a great rarity - a trumpet player who has absorbed the harmonic lessons of modern jazz without losing the lyrical beauty of the best mainstream players. Carmello, plays trumpet and pocket trumpet, is accompanied by a fine rhythm section of The John Gibbon Trio.
