Due to circumstances beyond our control, we've had an unexpected change of headliner for March. Alas, Tom Wrigglesworth will not be with us this time - but we couldn't have asked for a better replacement. Ray Peacock is perhaps best know for his long-running podcast series with ex-Eastenders star Ravi James, although he had a brush with notoriety as one of the first stand-up comedians ever to perform in Broadmoor, a gig which was the subject of a dramatic expose in the Sun newspaper... But as part of the legendary Big and Daft comedy team he was a sell-out star of the Edinburgh Fringe for many years, and he's probably one of the best-loved comedians on the circuit - a genuinely lovely and very funny man indeed. Here he is talking about his notorious Broadmoor gig - please note that this clip contains some bad language...
"Immaculately funny" - Time Out
"Infectious and endearing... sharply observed and exuberantly delivered, this is meandering and genial mayhem" - The Stage
He's ably supported by Nick Doody.
Nick's comedy career began in earnest when he was chosen by the late, great Bill Hicks to support him on his last UK tour. Since then his superlative gag-writing skills have been much in demand, with writing credits for 8 out of 10 Cats, The Friday Night Project and Late Edition.
He's been compared to Dennis Leary but he's his own man on stage: fast, physical and very funny.
"Very impressive... unfailingly good punchlines... intelligent and funny... comes with the chortle seal of approval" CHORTLE
Compere for the night will be the man himself: Silky. He's "A central figure on the UK comedy circuit" (Evening Chronicle) - come along and see why...
Advance booking is strongly recommended for this event as a sell-out seems likely...
