We all know volunteering to be good for personal growth and development. But why is this? Volunteering is now commonly regarded as activities that develop talent and potential, build human capital and improve employment prospects by enhancing people’s quality of life and contributing to the realisation of dreams and aspirations. Here at Span Arts we can match your skills and interests with a role that suits you best and we also offer training opportunities. Read more to find the ways in which you can help us as we would like to help you.

Make a difference in the community – Volunteering has a real and valuable positive affect on people, communities and society in general. Narberth A Cappella Voice Festival 2017 simply could not happen without our wonderful volunteers. From poster runs for those with busy lives, to year round festival programming and coordination, our volunteers are vital. Get in touch now if you are interested.

Learn new skills. Volunteering encourages personal growth, helps you to learn new skills, gain experience and even qualifications. Through volunteering you can challenge yourself to try something new, achieve personal goals, practice using your skills and discover hidden talents. Many of our volunteers have gone on to paid roles within the organisation and others have gone on to find employment elsewhere using skills they’ve learned with us.

Develop your potential. Within this small arts organisation there are a surprising number of opportunities to consider – catering, driving, office work, marketing, promotions, working with the elderly, children, outdoor theatre, skill shares and workshops – as well as of course helping with live events. If you are interested in event management, or need more experience of working in a team, then Span Arts is the place for you.

Meet people. Friendship is central to living a happy life. Span Arts volunteers are a fantastic community of people who come together to create wonderful experiences – a huge part of volunteering here is the social life, getting to know people by working with and alongside them is very rewarding.  A shared goal is a great boost for friendship and the fabulous events we put are on are the ideal place to connect with others whilst volunteering.

Gain confidence. Volunteering helps you gain confidence by giving you the chance to try something new and build a real sense of achievement. At Span Arts you can meet and talk to the performers, audiences and different members of the team which really deepens your appreciation of an event. There is a feeling of great satisfaction that comes from being part of a team and making something happen.

Like neurons in our brains, the more connections develop the more possibilities there are for greater connections. That certainly sounds like personal growth to us and when we look at our team of Span Arts volunteers, we see a vital group of people without whom we could not operate.  Why not try for yourself and discover your hidden talents? Be your best with Span Arts.
