Perfect patches for your mending projects!
Last month textile artist Nia Lewis facilitated some weaving workshops. For anyone who missed it here’s your chance to have a go check the list of materials below and watch the video:
- Masking tape / sellotape
- Variety of threads, wool, ribbon in different colours, thickness and texture. Thin wire or metallic thread if you have it.
- Needles – the longer the better with large eyes.
- Cardboard – mount board or cereal box weight
- Ruler, pen, pencil
- Double sided tape
Create unique woven patches for your mending projects or to upcycle garments or interior textiles. Transform your mending pile with this simple technique. The possibilities are endless and achievable using materials and equipment from around the house. Learn how to vary structure for interesting textures and colour combinations with each patch being unique to you.
We hope you enjoy!
